Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Swic ("the App," "the Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Swic. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Swic. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement. Swic is designed for current college and university students. We reserve the right to verify enrollment status and terminate accounts that do not meet eligibility requirements.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Keep your password secure and not share it with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

Swic reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

Swic allows you to post photos, videos, text, and other content ("User Content"). By posting content, you grant Swic a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the Service.

You agree that your content will not:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Contain nudity, sexually explicit material, or graphic violence
• Harass, bully, or threaten any individual
• Promote hate speech, discrimination, or illegal activity
• Impersonate another person or organization
• Contain spam, malware, or unauthorized advertising

You choose how long each post stays visible — from a couple of days up to permanent. Posts set to expire are removed automatically at the end of the window you select. Permanent posts, and posts inducted into the Hall of Fame, remain until you request removal.

5. Hall of Fame

Content that reaches the Hall of Fame like threshold is permanently preserved on Swic. By posting content, you acknowledge that your content may be inducted into the Hall of Fame and displayed indefinitely. You may contact us to request removal of Hall of Fame content under exceptional circumstances.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
• Use automated tools or bots to scrape or interact with the Service
• Create multiple accounts to evade a ban or suspension
• Sell, transfer, or monetize your account without our consent

7. Content Capture, Screenshots & Redistribution

Swic content is created for and shared within the Swic community. You agree not to screenshot, screen-record, photograph, or otherwise capture other users' posts, profiles, or messages, and not to repost, distribute, or publish any Swic content outside the app without the express consent of the person who created it. Swic uses screenshot detection and other measures to identify unauthorized capture and sharing.

Violations may result in penalties at our discretion, including a formal warning, temporary suspension, permanent ban (including a block on creating a new account), removal of your content, and forfeiture of your accumulated points, leaderboard standing, and Hall of Fame placements. Serious or repeated violations may also expose you to the other remedies described in these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, logos, and code within Swic — excluding User Content — are the intellectual property of Swic and its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Swic is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the platform. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Swic shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Swic at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ohio.
